The Faroese Ministry of Finance has not yet approved a three-year agreement between the Health Assistants’ Association and the Municipal Employers’ Association, KVF reported on Monday.

The two organisations signed the agreement on October 16. It must be approved by Finance Minister Aksel V. Johannesen before it can take effect. The ministry told KVF the agreement is still under consideration but gave no indication of when a decision might come.

Association chairwoman Mary Antonsdóttir said on radio news over the weekend that if the agreement is not approved, the union will not continue negotiations. A strike would then be the only option, she said.
