A climate and environmental activist has been fined for actions during protests against new construction on Amager Fælled, a natural area, DR reported. The Eastern High Court issued the ruling on Monday.

Copenhagen City Court had ruled in 2025 that the activist should not be punished for two incidents, citing the criminal law provision on necessity. The prosecution appealed and sought a fine.

On January 27, 2022, activists sat against a fence on Amager Fælled to protest plans to clear part of the area for new construction. Workers at the site could not remove the fence, and the activist refused to move when police asked her to.

The following day, she refused to leave Copenhagen City Hall after a meeting with then technical and environmental affairs mayor Line Barfod of the Red-Green Alliance about protected species on Amager Fælled.

The High Court found the activist guilty of several offences connected to the protests and sentenced her to ten day-fines of 1,800 kroner each.
