The Capital Area Fire Department helped deliver a baby in an ambulance and rescued a cat that fell from the ninth floor, mbl.is reports.

The department handled several calls yesterday evening and overnight. In a Facebook post, it said the birth went well and that the mother and baby were doing well.

The cat, called Sigurlaug or Lauga, fell from the ninth floor onto a balcony on the fourth floor. The apartment was empty, so the owner asked firefighters to retrieve her. Lauga appeared to be uninjured, and the owner took her to a veterinarian for a check-up.
