Storm Boelo set to disrupt trains as it reaches Sweden
Storm Boelo is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds to Sweden on Sunday, disrupting train services and ferry departures, SVT reports. Sweden’s weather agency SMHI has issued warnings for rain and wind in several parts of the country.
About 30 millimetres of rain is forecast during the day. Warnings cover parts of the coast in Götaland and Svealand, as well as Öland and Gotland.
Train services will be affected, including in Värmland and Skåne. Ferry departures to and from Gotland are also expected to be disrupted, while services between Bornholm and Ystad may be delayed.
Boelo has prompted orange weather warnings in Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England. Gusts exceeding 30 metres per second are expected in parts of Britain, where authorities warn of a greater risk of transport disruption, damage to buildings and danger to life and health.
