Two hikers who got lost in the fog of the Kerlingarfjöll mountains were found shortly after midnight. One of them had become quite cold by the time rescuers arrived.

Search and rescue teams were dispatched last night in South Iceland to locate the men after they alerted authorities to their situation. The response involved ten rescue teams from the region. Upon realizing they were lost, the hikers chose to stay in place and conserve their body heat while waiting for help.

Rescue operations were successful, and the men were safely taken to a hotel in Ásgarður shortly after their recovery.
