Five coastal states will meet in London in December to negotiate a new allocation for blue whiting, KVF reports.

The Faroe Islands, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Iceland and Norway have agreed to meet on December 1 and 2. On December 3 and 4, they will try to bring other coastal states into the mackerel agreement between the Faroe Islands, the United Kingdom, Iceland and Norway.

The coastal states have also agreed to set maximum catch limits for mackerel, Norwegian spring-spawning herring and blue whiting in 2027, in line with advice from the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES). The recommended limits are 352,938 tonnes of mackerel, 588,004 tonnes of herring and 1,064,191 tonnes of blue whiting.
