Fees for the Eysturoy and Sandoy tunnels could be reduced, KVF reports, as state support for the company operating them is set to fall next year.
Jacob Vestergaard, the minister responsible, said in a reply to MP Bill Justinussen that the 2027 draft budget estimates no traffic guarantee payment will be made that year. The government’s support for Eystur- og Sandoyartunlar, the tunnel company, is also expected to drop from 10 million to five million kroner.
If the current trend continues, the state treasury may no longer have direct expenses related to the company, Vestergaard said.
