A case involving a man suspected of killing his father this summer has been referred to the Office of the District Prosecutor, mbl.is reports.

Karl Ingi Vilbergsson, a prosecutor at the office, told mbl.is that the man was arrested in late July after a death at a home in Kópavogur and was subsequently remanded in custody.

It later emerged that the man was the son of the deceased and Lilja Rafney Magnúsdóttir, an MP for the People’s Party. Vilbergsson said he could not give details about the case’s current status because it is being handled by another prosecutor.
