DR reports that Kombit, a municipal IT partnership, temporarily shut down the Aula communications platform on Wednesday afternoon because of a potential security risk.

Kombit press chief Lars Skov Granerud told Ritzau that the risk involves an underlying component used in several of the partnership’s solutions. The cause of the risk is not yet known, and it is unclear when Aula will reopen.

Earlier on Wednesday, several municipal IT systems were fully or partly shut down, including the library system and tools municipal employees use for tasks such as paying benefits. Kombit said other systems should now be fully operational, though disruptions may continue.

Granerud said the problem has not been resolved and Kombit does not yet have a complete overview of the situation. Aula is used by staff, parents and pupils at public schools and childcare facilities.
