Police pursue suspects in half-million-euro outboard thefts

Police are investigating a series of outboard motor thefts from small-boat harbours in Inkoo and Raasepori, with stolen property valued at about 500,000 euros, Yle reports. The motors are believed to have been taken out of Finland.

More than 20 offences are under investigation, along with several attempted thefts. The cases include suspected aggravated theft, attempted aggravated theft and theft. Police say they have identified the suspects, a temporary storage location for the motors, and how and where they were transported.

Four people are suspected in the case, and all have been remanded in custody. One is awaiting extradition to Finland. The preliminary investigation is continuing as police trace the stolen property and investigate whether others were involved.
