TVG-Zimsen and Kales launch Iceland air cargo venture

TVG-Zimsen and Kales Group B.V. have established Kales Iceland, a new company that will represent airlines in the Icelandic air cargo market, mbl.is reports.

TVG-Zimsen, a subsidiary of Eimskip, and Kales Group, an international company specialising in airline representation services, said the joint venture will operate as an independent sales and service agent for airlines’ cargo operations in Iceland.

The company aims to strengthen links between international airlines and Icelandic importers, exporters and freight forwarders. It will provide sales and operational services for airlines’ cargo shipments to and from Iceland, and help them develop their freight businesses by connecting them with local freight forwarders, exporters and importers.

TVG-Zimsen managing director Raffaele Manna said the venture would create new opportunities and improve connections with overseas markets for Icelandic businesses.

Kales Group chief executive Sebastiaan Scholte said the partnership would combine Kales’ international experience and network with TVG-Zimsen’s knowledge of the Icelandic market. The goal, he said, is to build an independent company that creates value for the airlines it represents and its customers in Iceland.
