The proposed 2027 budget could stall the development of the Faroese film industry if funding remains unchanged, KVF reports. The association of Faroese film workers has asked the Finance Committee to increase the allocation.

“The allocation is already too small, and greater support is needed,” said Eir í Ólavstovu, chair of Føroysk filmsfólk, the association of Faroese film workers.

Last year, the Faroese film The Last Paradise on Earth won the Nordic Council Film Prize.
