A new report by Javna says people with intellectual disabilities face too many barriers to employment, KVF reports. The report was presented at an event on an inclusive labour market in Tórshavn on Monday.

Katrin Jacobæus, Javna’s director, said most of the organisation’s members would like to work but encounter too many obstacles.

Vinnuhúsið also says changes are needed to help more people with disabilities enter the workforce. Súsanna Berg, an adviser at the organisation, said businesses can play an important role, but the process of hiring people with disabilities needs to be made simpler.
