A rescue team in Siglufjörður secured a sailboat that was at risk of breaking free and damaging a floating dock, mbl.is reported.

The Strákar rescue team was called out yesterday evening after the boat began to come loose in the small-boat harbour. Rescuers tied it down and placed fenders along its side to stop it hitting the dock.

Winds were strong in Siglufjörður, with gusts reaching 35 metres per second, according to observations at Sauðanes lighthouse, west of Strákagöng.
