Frozen catch lets vessels leave Faroe Bank fishing grounds

Vessels fishing on the Faroe Bank can now move to another fishing ground before landing their catch if the fish has been frozen on board, KVF reported.

Previously, regulations barred vessels fishing on the bank from fishing elsewhere until their catch had been landed.

Under the new condition, frozen fish caught on the bank must be stowed separately from other fish and clearly labelled. The packaging must identify the vessel, fishing ground, species and catch date.
