Rescue teams free three cars stuck in mud on Hellisheiði

Three cars became stuck in mud on a track leading toward Skarðsmýrarfjall on Hellisheiði on Saturday evening, mbl.is reported.

Rescue teams from South Iceland were called out shortly after 11 p.m. Several rescue vehicles went to the scene and freed the cars, with little difficulty, according to Landsbjörg.

Rescue teams otherwise had a quiet night, with no callouts for wind damage or other weather-related damage.
