Sprinkler failure damages businesses in Mjódd

Several businesses were affected by a water leak after a sprinkler system failed at the Rice and Noodles restaurant in Mjódd, mbl.is reported.

Water flowed into the building’s basement, where other businesses have storage areas. Bakarameistarinn operates in an adjoining building.

A fire service duty officer said it was not known how long the sprinkler system had been running before the leak was discovered. The leak was stopped, and firefighters pumped water from the basement and restaurant. The fire service later completed its work at the scene.
