Firefighters pump water after sprinkler failure in Mjódd

Two pump trucks from the Capital Area Fire and Rescue Service are responding to a water leak in Mjódd after a sprinkler system at the Rice and Noodles restaurant malfunctioned, mbl.is reports.

Water entered the building’s basement, where other businesses have storage areas. Bakarameistarinn operates in an adjacent building.

A fire service duty officer said it was not known how long the sprinkler system had been running before the leak was discovered. The leak has been stopped, and firefighters are pumping water from the basement and the restaurant.
