Fearless Girl statue goes on display at Borgartún 19

The Fearless Girl statue will be on display at Borgartún 19 from 9 a.m. to noon today, mbl.is reports. The exhibition marks the results of Arion Bank’s Women Invest campaign, known in Icelandic as Konur fjárfestum.

The statue was first installed in New York by State Street Investment Management in 2017 to mark International Women’s Day. Created by artist Kristen Visbal, it drew attention as it stood facing the Charging Bull on Wall Street. Since then, it has become a widely recognised symbol of women’s strength, courage and leadership.

The campaign aims to increase women’s participation in financial markets and strengthen their financial independence. More than 10,000 women have attended its events, where they have received information, inspiration and practical tools to begin investing or build their knowledge.
