Half of Denmark’s volunteer cardiac arrest responders arrive within three minutes and 24 seconds, according to new figures reported by DR.

The figure is the median response time for the first nine months of 2026. It is more than a minute faster than in 2024, when the median was four minutes and 44 seconds.

Earlier this year, one responder reached a person in cardiac arrest in Allerød Municipality in 14 seconds. Quick first aid can improve the prospects for someone whose heart has stopped beating.

There are 61,300 volunteers in the scheme. Their tasks include collecting a defibrillator and bringing it to the person in cardiac arrest.
