19-year-old charged with two attempted rapes in Risskov

A 19-year-old man has been charged with two attempted rapes after allegedly assaulting two women in the Risskov area, DR reports. He is due to appear today at Aarhus District Court for a custody hearing.

Police said the women were walking alone late in the evening when the assaults happened, on July 12 and September 27. The man was arrested by East Jutland Police yesterday.

Police initially charged him in connection with one of the two incidents, but later decided to charge him in both cases. He is due in court at 11.30, where prosecutors will seek to have him remanded in custody.

East Jutland Police said they had no further information about the investigation for now, but hoped the arrest would help restore a sense of security in the area. The investigation into the reported assaults is continuing.
