Marine Alutech has confirmed a 175 million euro contract to build 15 combat boats for the German Navy, Yle reports.
The company, based in Teijo in Salo, said the deal covers delivery of the Watercat M18 AMC boats, training, documentation and a lifecycle support package.
The boats are designed for operations in shallow waters, landings and fast movement in coastal areas. Similar boats have been used by the Finnish Navy for various tasks since 2014.
Marine Alutech’s Teijo shipyard specialises in designing and building professional-use boats between 8 and 27 metres long, as well as providing lifecycle services.
