Police arrest 19-year-old over attempted rape near Risskov

DR reports that a 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted rape in connection with an assault on September 27 in Risskov, near Aarhus.

Police investigation leader Flemming Nørgaard said the suspect lives nearby and had been under suspicion for several days. Police received a result from their forensic genetics department on Wednesday indicating that he could be a potential perpetrator, he said.

Police have linked the September assault to another attack in the area in June. The man is currently charged only in the September case, Nørgaard said, adding that the earlier assault is still being investigated.

Nørgaard expects the man to appear in a constitutional hearing on Thursday, where police will seek to have him remanded in custody.
