The company behind the Blaa clothing brand has applied for bankruptcy, with the case opened at Pirkanmaa District Court on Monday, Yle reports.

Besign made and sold clothing under the Blaa brand for both children and adults. The brand’s online store is now closed until further notice.

Besign’s revenue fell from just under 1.7 million euros in 2022 to just under 300,000 euros two years later.

The company previously ran a shop at the Ideapark shopping centre in Lempäälä. It first operated under the name Ballot, then became a Blaa-branded store in 2022.

In April 2023, Aamulehti reported that Besign had appealed to customers for help through a discount campaign, saying rising costs had put pressure on its operations.

Besign’s restructuring case was heard at Pirkanmaa District Court in 2023 and 2024. The court approved a restructuring programme in April 2024. Since then, the company has sold clothing online and through pop-up shops, including one at the Ratina shopping centre in Tampere in summer 2026.
