Warm weather is sweeping across Finland today, Wednesday, and continuing into Thursday, with temperatures reaching close to heatwave levels throughout the country, except for the northern region of Käsivarsi. Meteorologist Henriikka Heikinoja from Yle reports that rain is expected nationwide on Friday as a weather front moves in from the west, progressing eastward. The northern regions are likely to experience the heaviest rainfall.

Accompanying the rain, temperatures are anticipated to drop to around 20 degrees Celsius. Saturday is forecasted to be drier than Friday; however, intermittent local rain showers may still occur. According to the current weather predictions, both Saturday and Sunday are expected to remain slightly above 20 degrees Celsius, although it seems unlikely that temperatures will reach heatwave levels again.

Heikinoja suggests that this week may mark the final days of heat for the time being, but she speculates that temperatures could rise again towards the end of August.
