The Faroe Islands will receive no capelin from Iceland for now because the countries currently have no fisheries agreement, broadcaster KVF reports.

Iceland’s capelin quota is 85,676 tonnes, of which the Faroe Islands are allocated five per cent. Greenland’s quota is 19,039 tonnes and Norway’s is 1,058 tonnes.

Whether Norway joins the capelin agreement before the end of the year will determine what happens next. If it does not, the quota will be divided between Iceland and Greenland.
