Rain spreads across Finland, worsening driving conditions in Lapland
Rain will spread across almost all of Finland on Wednesday, while snow and sleet in Lapland will make driving conditions poor, Yle reports.
A low-pressure system moving in from the west will bring widespread rain. By afternoon, only the northern parts of the country and the east are expected to avoid showers. Most precipitation elsewhere will fall as rain.
Temperatures will range from 11C in the south to around zero in the north. The low-pressure system will also strengthen winds over sea areas and in southwestern Finland.
Rain will ease towards evening, with scattered showers mainly in western Finland and Kainuu. The weather is expected to become dry overnight into Thursday, although another band of rain will approach from the west.
