Police are searching for a driver who struck an eight-year-old boy riding a bicycle in Mosfellsbær yesterday evening and left without checking on him, mbl.is reports. The collision happened at about 6.30 p.m. near Vefarastræti 11 in the town.
The boy fell from his bicycle and was injured, and the bicycle was damaged. He suffered minor head injuries and a nosebleed, according to an earlier mbl.is report. His father criticised the driver for not helping his son.
Police believe the driver is a young woman and are urging her to come forward. They are also seeking information from witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 444 1000.
Police said drivers should check whether anyone has been injured or property damaged in a collision, and report such incidents. Injuries may not always be visible at the scene.
