Man suspected of fraud after failing to pay restaurant bill

A man who ate and drank at a restaurant in Iceland’s capital region but could not pay the bill is suspected of fraud, mbl.is reports, citing the capital-area police log.

The police log did not state the amount of the bill or how the case was resolved.

Police also stopped a driver travelling at 66 km/h in a 30 km/h zone. Two other drivers were stopped on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. One of them was also disqualified from driving. Both were released after blood samples were taken.

Police were called over a suspected theft at a grocery store and to remove an unwelcome person. Officers also dealt with a fence that had blown onto a road.
