Car veers into rock face in Kouvola, killing driver

A driver died after a car veered into a rock face in Sippola, Kouvola, Yle reports. No one else was in the car, police said.

Police are investigating the crash as aggravated endangerment of traffic safety and conducting a cause-of-death inquiry.

Road 371 between Hamina and Keltakangas in Kouvola was closed after the crash. Fintraffic said shortly after 9 a.m. that the disruption had ended. The road was fully closed at the junction of Sippolantie and Alaportintie.

Emergency services and police were alerted to the crash at 7:23 a.m. on Sunday.
