A new flash flood has destroyed homes and other buildings along a river valley in northern Nepal, SVT reported. Residents were evacuated on Sunday as authorities warned people to move to safer ground and watch for further flooding.

Buildings can be seen being swept away in footage from the valley along the Budhi Gandaki River. There are no reports of deaths or injuries, and the cause of the flood has not been established.

The valley flows into the Trishuli River, an important waterway near the capital, Kathmandu. Nepal’s disaster risk management authority has urged residents to remain alert for more flash floods.

The latest flood comes after a catastrophic flash flood near the Nepal-China border in August. Around 1,400 people were killed and thousands remain missing. Nearly 33,000 people were affected, 7,500 homes were destroyed, and rebuilding damaged infrastructure is estimated to cost about 45 billion kronor.
