Forssa apartment fire forces evacuation of 16 homes

A fire in an apartment block in Forssa on Saturday evening forced the evacuation of all 16 homes in one stairwell, Yle reported, citing the Kanta-Häme Rescue Department.

The stairwell was so badly damaged that residents will be unable to return to their homes for some time, an on-duty fire chief said.

Paramedics assessed 10 people who were in the building when the fire started. One person was taken to hospital.
