People across Iceland are meeting on Saturday to discuss what kind of society they want to build together, mbl.is reports. Young people are leading the conversations, which are open to all generations.

The meetings, scheduled for 2pm to 5pm, are part of a project called Tölum saman, or “Let’s talk”. President Halla Tómasdóttir initiated the project and is its patron. It marks 40 years since the summit at Höfði.

The non-profit organisation Samtal is running the project with schools, associations, institutions and the government. Young facilitators are helping participants listen to one another and discuss what matters to them. The conversations are being livestreamed.
