Court orders travel ban for man in drug and money laundering probe
A man in his 50s held in a major police investigation into money laundering and drug distribution has been placed under a two-week travel ban, mbl.is reported.
The ban runs until October 23. No application was made to extend his pre-trial detention. He was arrested on arrival in Iceland on Sunday evening and held from the beginning of the week until today.
The investigation concerns suspected drug distribution and money laundering by police in the capital area. Seventeen people were arrested in police operations on September 22. Six were initially remanded in custody, but all have since been released. Police have searched several locations and seized drugs and money as part of the investigation.
