Íslandsbanki warns customers about scam calls
Íslandsbanki has warned customers about scam calls in which callers pretend to be bank employees, mbl.is reports. The bank says it has received several reports of such calls.
Callers claim that suspicious activity or a login has occurred in the customer’s online banking account, then ask the person to authenticate using electronic identification certificates.
The bank urges customers not to approve unexpected authentication requests. Anyone unsure whether a call is genuine should hang up and contact Íslandsbanki on 440 4000.
