Bjørn Kalsø calls Kalsoy tunnel planning a major step forward

Plans to begin designing a tunnel to Kalsoy are good news for the island, says Bjørn Kalsø, a long-time advocate for the project, according to KVF.

Kalsø, who lives in Syðradalur, welcomed the decision to start work on the project. Business Minister Jacob Vestergaard said the previous day that the company P.f. Norðoyatunnilin would finance and lead the tunnel’s design work.

A plan for a new ferry to Kalsoy has been postponed for now, if work begins on designing the tunnel.
