Iceland’s Competition Authority searched the premises of Bera hf., the parent company of Ölgerðin, as part of an investigation into alleged competition law violations by Ölgerðin Egill Skallagrímsson ehf., mbl.is reported.
The search was conducted with authorisation from the District Court of Reykjavík. The investigation currently covers the period from 2020 to the present.
A statement to the stock exchange said the law prohibits one or more companies from abusing a dominant market position. The company said it would provide updates on the case as warranted.
