Man fined after keeping parents’ bodies in freezers for decades
An 81-year-old man who kept his parents’ bodies in freezers for more than 30 years has been fined about €2,000, Yle reported.
The Southwest Finland District Court ordered him to pay 110 day-fines. It found him guilty of three counts of violating the sanctity of the grave and unlawfully concealing an unburied body.
The man’s 70-year-old younger brother was also fined for violating the sanctity of the grave. He was ordered to pay 40 day-fines, amounting to €640.
The brothers were caught digging open a family grave at a cemetery in Turku in autumn last year. The ruling is not yet final.
