Ómar Friðriksson retires after 36 years at Árvakur

Veteran Morgunblaðið reporter Ómar Friðriksson has retired after 36 years at Árvakur, mbl.is reports. He left at his own request, with his final day on September 30.

Friðriksson worked on the newspaper’s editorial team and also handled news editing. For many years, he was its leading specialist on labour market issues and was known to readers for his detailed news analysis.

Colleagues held a farewell for him at Hádegismóar on Thursday and thanked him for his work over the decades.
