Sweden’s Meteorological and Hydrological Institute has issued a yellow weather warning for parts of eastern Svealand and Gävleborg County, warning that strong winds could bring down trees and restrict travel on roads, SVT reports.

The warning is expected to remain in force until 1pm on Friday. SVT meteorologist Leon Lee said storm-force gusts had already been measured during the morning.

SMHI says heavy rain that hit Bohuslän on Thursday will continue east towards Gävleborg, Gästrikland and Uppland. Gävle had flooding and stronger winds overnight, while parts of Bohuslän have also been affected by flooding.

About 60 flood-related calls were reported in Bohuslän on Thursday. The Swedish Transport Administration had staff clearing water from roads and said the work would continue around the clock.
