Earthquake swarm continues on Reykjanes Ridge

An earthquake swarm began on the Reykjanes Ridge shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday, with the largest recorded quake measuring magnitude 3.4, mbl.is reported.

Jarþrúður Ósk Jóhannesdóttir, a natural hazards specialist at the Icelandic Met Office, said the swarm was still ongoing and that such swarms were common. “There is nothing urgent about this. There is no unrest or anything like that,” she said.
