Man charged with sexual assault in Kópavogur, Iceland

A man has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman in a car during the summer of 2022. According to the indictment, the woman was either asleep or unconscious in the back seat of the vehicle, which the man had parked in an undisclosed location in Kópavogur, due to the effects of drugs and medication. The man allegedly took advantage of her condition, engaging in sexual intercourse with her while simultaneously recording the act on video.

He faces charges of rape and violation of the woman’s sexual integrity. Additionally, on behalf of the victim, the man has been demanded to pay damages amounting to 3.5 million ISK.
