Djøf readers name workplace phrase they find most irritating
Readers of Djøfbladet have voted “help each other succeed” the most irritating phrase at work in 2026, DR reports. The expression received one in eight of the 2,135 votes cast.
The phrase, “spille hinanden gode” in Danish, has been used in sport for decades, according to Peter Juel Henrichsen, a language researcher at the Danish Language Council.
In second place was “What does the chat say?” or “Ask the chat?”, referring to chatbots and artificial intelligence language models such as ChatGPT. “Journey” came third, followed by “I feel that…”
This was the third time the poll had been held. Other expressions on the list included “onboarding” and “must-win battles.” Djøfbladet covers working life, studies and careers. Its publisher, Djøf, is a trade union and interest organisation with around 110,000 members.
