VR, LÍV and professional associations meet as wage talks stall

Representatives of VR, LÍV and Fagfélögin, a group of professional associations, met to discuss the stalled negotiations with employers’ association Samtök atvinnulífsins (SA), mbl.is reported.

VR chair Halla Gunnarsdóttir said the mood was gloomy as the meeting began. The situation was unchanged from earlier Thursday and Wednesday evening, when VR’s board decided to terminate its collective agreement.

Gunnarsdóttir said the group planned to go to SA’s offices at about 2 p.m. after the meeting to deliver the termination notice.
