MP brings homemade liver sausage to Dagmál
Independence Party MP Ingveldur Anna Sigurðardóttir brought homemade liver sausage to the mbl.is programme Dagmál, where she appeared with María Rut Kristinsdóttir, acting chair of Viðreisn’s parliamentary group, mbl.is reported.
Ingveldur said her family has made slátur, including liver sausage, since she was a child. Over the years, they have added mushrooms, bacon and onion to the sausage, alongside the traditional ingredients. The family has also experimented with other additions, including ginger in blood pudding, and records the results in a diary each year.
The recipe is not being shared publicly. Ingveldur said it is “under lock and key” with Valgerður, the family’s guardian of the slátur recipe.
Ingveldur, María Rut and programme host Andrea Sigurðardóttir tried the liver sausage and enjoyed it, although they appeared to have different appetites for it. The episode also covers taxes, a balanced budget and potholed roads.
