Negotiations between VR, LÍV and the professional associations, on one side, and the Employers’ Association (SA), on the other, have seen slight movement, mbl.is reported Wednesday. The talks are being held with the state mediator.
VR chair Halla Gunnarsdóttir said the parties were exchanging proposals. She also said work was under way with the government on specific implementation details alongside the negotiations with SA.
Halla said SA director Bjarni Benediktsson and chair Jón Ólafur Halldórsson were taking time to consider their position. She said there was not yet a positive outcome, but that the situation was at least no worse than before.
Earlier Wednesday, Halla had told mbl.is that nothing new had been put forward and the parties were no closer to an agreement than they had been the previous evening. Bjarni and Jón Ólafur could not be reached for comment.
