31-year-old goes on trial over fatal assault at Copenhagen event

A Swedish man died after suffering injuries from a powerful punch at a big-screen event in central Copenhagen in June, DR reports. A 31-year-old man is on trial at Copenhagen City Court, charged with assaulting him.

The Swedish man died three days after sustaining the injuries. The defendant is also charged with throwing two beer cans towards a group of people, one of whom was hit.

Before the hearing, DR spoke to defence lawyer Thomas Brædder, who declined to comment on his client’s position. DR is following the trial.
