Showers and sleet to affect much of Iceland today

Showers or sleet are expected in many parts of Iceland today, according to a forecast published by mbl.is. The east will be mostly dry and bright, with southerly or variable winds of 3 to 8 metres per second and daytime temperatures of 2 to 9C.

Winds will strengthen tomorrow, reaching 13 to 20 metres per second in the southwest, while remaining lighter elsewhere. Rain is expected in many areas, with considerable precipitation in parts of the southeast and occasional wet weather in the north. Temperatures will range from 4 to 11C.

Winds in the southwest will ease during the afternoon.
