Public information about Iceland Post’s operations and oversight of the company has declined, despite a strong emphasis on transparency in postal services law, mbl.is reported.
Interim financial statements previously published by Iceland Post have disappeared from its website. The company has also yet to publish its accounts for this year, despite a legal obligation to do so.
The Regional Development Institute has stopped publishing formal decisions when it raises no objections to Iceland Post’s proposed tariff increases, although it published such decisions in the past. Deloitte reports on the company’s accounting separation, which the institute has cited in its decision-making, have also been removed from the institute’s website.
