MobilePay will become Vipps across four Nordic countries

MobilePay’s app in Denmark is changing its logo today and will be renamed Vipps on January 12, DR reports. The app will use the same name in Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway.

The new icon replaces the familiar outline of a mobile phone and banknotes with a one-eyed smiley, while keeping the app’s classic blue colour.

Vipps MobilePay says the app itself will remain unchanged, and users do not need to take any action. “Everything will work as usual from the very first day,” said Jeanette Hertzum, the company’s country manager in Denmark.

The rebranding follows the 2022 merger of MobilePay in Denmark and Finland with Norway’s Vipps to create a shared Nordic mobile wallet that can be used across the Nordic countries.
